博瑞拉斯自1972年出版。發(fā)表了來(lái)自第四紀(jì)研究各個(gè)分支的具有廣泛國(guó)際興趣的文章。在冰期和非冰期地區(qū)，第四紀(jì)環(huán)境的生物和非生物方面都得到了處理:氣候、海岸位移、冰川特征、地貌、沉積物、生物及其棲息地、地層和年代關(guān)系。預(yù)期的國(guó)際興趣，至少在一個(gè)大陸或其中相當(dāng)大的一部分，是接受文件的一個(gè)主要標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。除了文章之外，還會(huì)發(fā)表一些簡(jiǎn)短的文章，如討論貢獻(xiàn)和書(shū)評(píng)。

Boreas has been published since 1972. Articles of wide international interest from all branches of Quaternary research are published. Biological as well as non-biological aspects of the Quaternary environment, in both glaciated and non-glaciated areas, are dealt with: Climate, shore displacement, glacial features, land forms, sediments, organisms and their habitat, and stratigraphical and chronological relationships. Anticipated international interest, at least within a continent or a considerable part of it, is a main criterion for the acceptance of papers. Besides articles, short items like discussion contributions and book reviews are published.
