《材料科學》報道了當前對斷裂、疲勞和斷裂等問題的研究，特別是在活躍環境下以及結構金屬和聚合物材料的腐蝕和防腐保護，以及新材料的開發。《材料科學》是同行評議的烏克蘭期刊《材料》的譯本。

Materials Science reports on current research into such problems as cracking, fatigue and fracture, especially in active environments as well as corrosion and anticorrosion protection of structural metallic and polymer materials, and the development of new materials.Materials Science is a translation of the peer-reviewed Ukrainian journal Fizyko-Khimichna Mekhanika Materialiv.
