該期刊的目的是提供一種手段，以便在國(guó)際基礎(chǔ)上就風(fēng)工程的所有方面發(fā)表和交流信息，這些方面都包括在http://www.iawe.org/國(guó)際風(fēng)工程協(xié)會(huì)的活動(dòng)中。這些因素是：風(fēng)力效應(yīng)的社會(huì)和經(jīng)濟(jì)影響；風(fēng)力特性和結(jié)構(gòu)、當(dāng)?shù)仫L(fēng)力環(huán)境、風(fēng)力負(fù)荷和結(jié)構(gòu)反應(yīng)、擴(kuò)散、污染物擴(kuò)散和物質(zhì)運(yùn)輸、風(fēng)力對(duì)建筑物熱損失和通風(fēng)的影響、風(fēng)力對(duì)運(yùn)輸系統(tǒng)的影響；風(fēng)力發(fā)電的空氣動(dòng)力學(xué)方面，以及風(fēng)力效應(yīng)的編纂。發(fā)表了關(guān)于這些主題的論文，介紹了全面測(cè)量、風(fēng)洞模擬研究、計(jì)算或理論方法，以及關(guān)于風(fēng)力工程實(shí)驗(yàn)技術(shù)和儀器發(fā)展的論文。

The objective of the journal is to provide a means for the publication and interchange of information, on an international basis, on all those aspects of wind engineering that are included in the activities of the International Association for Wind Engineering http://www.iawe.org/. These are: social and economic impact of wind effects; wind characteristics and structure, local wind environments, wind loads and structural response, diffusion, pollutant dispersion and matter transport, wind effects on building heat loss and ventilation, wind effects on transport systems, aerodynamic aspects of wind energy generation, and codification of wind effects.Papers on these subjects describing full-scale measurements, wind-tunnel simulation studies, computational or theoretical methods are published, as well as papers dealing with the development of techniques and apparatus for wind engineering experiments.
