生物地球化學(xué)發(fā)表關(guān)于環(huán)境化學(xué)的生物控制或生態(tài)系統(tǒng)結(jié)構(gòu)和功能的地球化學(xué)控制的原始和合成論文。循環(huán)被認(rèn)為是生態(tài)系統(tǒng)中單個(gè)元素或特定種類的自然或人為化合物的循環(huán)。特別強(qiáng)調(diào)了元素循環(huán)的耦合相互作用。該雜志涵蓋了從分子到全球的范圍，闡明了生物地球化學(xué)循環(huán)通過(guò)空間和時(shí)間驅(qū)動(dòng)模式的機(jī)制。當(dāng)自然生態(tài)系統(tǒng)和人工生態(tài)系統(tǒng)的研究有助于對(duì)生物地球化學(xué)的一般理解時(shí)，就會(huì)發(fā)表這些研究。

Biogeochemistry publishes original and synthetic papers dealing with biotic controls on the chemistry of the environment, or with the geochemical control of the structure and function of ecosystems. Cycles are considered, either of individual elements or of specific classes of natural or anthropogenic compounds in ecosystems. Particular emphasis is given to coupled interactions of element cycles. The journal spans from the molecular to global scales to elucidate the mechanisms driving patterns in biogeochemical cycles through space and time. Studies on both natural and artificial ecosystems are published when they contribute to a general understanding of biogeochemistry.
