《國際近似推理雜志》旨在作為一個討論人工和計算智能中不精確和不確定性的論壇，涵蓋不確定性理論的基礎，以及科學和工程應用智能系統的設計。它發表了描述理論發展或創新應用的高質量研究論文，并就一般感興趣的主題發表了評論文章。相關主題包括但不限于概率推理和貝葉斯網絡、不精確概率、隨機集、信念函數（dempster-shafer理論）、可能性理論、模糊集、粗糙集、決策理論、非加性測度和積分、不確定性定性推理、比較概率排序。博弈論概率論、缺省推理、非標準邏輯、論證系統、不一致容忍推理、啟發式技術、不確定推理的哲學基礎和心理學模型。不確定推理系統的應用領域包括風險分析與評估、信息檢索與數據庫設計、信息融合、機器學習、數據與網絡挖掘、計算機視覺、圖像與信號處理、智能數據分析、統計學、多代理系統等。該雜志隸屬于不精確概率學會：理論與應用學會（SIPTA），以及信仰功能與應用學會（BFAS）。

The International Journal of Approximate Reasoning is intended to serve as a forum for the treatment of imprecision and uncertainty in Artificial and Computational Intelligence, covering both the foundations of uncertainty theories, and the design of intelligent systems for scientific and engineering applications. It publishes high-quality research papers describing theoretical developments or innovative applications, as well as review articles on topics of general interest.Relevant topics include, but are not limited to, probabilistic reasoning and Bayesian networks, imprecise probabilities, random sets, belief functions (Dempster-Shafer theory), possibility theory, fuzzy sets, rough sets, decision theory, non-additive measures and integrals, qualitative reasoning about uncertainty, comparative probability orderings, game-theoretic probability, default reasoning, nonstandard logics, argumentation systems, inconsistency tolerant reasoning, elicitation techniques, philosophical foundations and psychological models of uncertain reasoning.Domains of application for uncertain reasoning systems include risk analysis and assessment, information retrieval and database design, information fusion, machine learning, data and web mining, computer vision, image and signal processing, intelligent data analysis, statistics, multi-agent systems, etc.The journal is affiliated with the Society for Imprecise Probability: Theories and Applications (SIPTA), and Beliefs functions and Applications Society (BFAS).
